Largo Woman Killed in Car Wreck

Jennifer Monique Jones was ejected from her vehicle.

County police officers are investigating a fatal collision that occurred yesterday afternoon at White House Road and Harry S. Truman Drive in Largo.

According to police, a green 1995 Nissan Maxima and a black 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee were traveling eastbound on White House Road approaching Harry S. Truman Drive where the road merges from two lanes into one.  

The driver of the Nissan Maxima attempted to merge behind the Jeep Grand Cherokee at which time they collided. Both vehicles then drove off the roadway where they both overturned.

Jennifer Monique Jones, who drove the Nissan Maxima, was ejected from the vehicle. The driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee managed to exit his vehicle on his own.

Jones was driven to a local hospital and pronounced dead.  She was 21. The male driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee did not sustain serious injures.

According to police, alcohol was not a factor in the collision but speed may have contributed to the crash. No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing.
