Six Flags America 2013 Season Performer Auditions

  • Where:  13710 Central Ave, Upper Marlboro
  • When:  Saturday, Feb. 2, 3 p.m.
  • Description:  Six Flags America is holding auditions for performers for the 2013 Spring/Summer season. Its looking for dancers, actors, emcee's, and marching band drummers. Its also seeking actors to portray the following walk-around characters: Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Hawk Girl, Joker, Riddler, and Cheetah.

Kids vs. Cops Basketball Game

  • Where:  College Park Community Center, 5051 Pierce Ave, College Park
  • When:  Friday, Feb. 1, 7:30 p.m.
  • Description:  Police officers from UMD. Prince Georges County and M-NCPPC Park Police will take on local teens in a friendly basketball game.
  • Cost: Free

 

Youth Basketball Free throws Competition

  • Where:  145 Crescent Rd, Greenbelt
  • When:  Saturday, Feb. 2, 2 p.m.
  • Description:  All boys and girls ages 10 to 14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2013 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship.

SHOPPERS Offers Free “Eating Healthy With Diabetes” Educational Program

  • Where:  Shoppers Food & Pharmacy, 13600 Baltimore Ave, Laurel
  • When:  Saturday, Feb. 2, 10 a.m.
  • Description:   SHOPPERS Food & Pharmacy will host a free “Eating Healthy With Diabetes” educational program that will offer tips for helping the whole family make healthier food choices.

"Sneak Peek" Season Preview & Dance Party

  • Description:  Hors d’oeuvres and cocktail, silent auction items and post-show dance.  Program will feature a "sneak peek" of our two new works--Stargazing and The 50's Front--before their premiere at Dance Place in June 2013.
