Forest Heights Gun Trade-In Brings Wide Variety of Weapons

More than 60 guns were traded this weekend at a "Gift Cards for Guns" event held this past weekend in Forest Heights, according to a report in The Washington Informer. 

The event, held at Abundant Life Ministries on Livingston Road in Forest Heights on Saturday, saw police offering $50 and $100 gift cards to residents who voluntarily handed over firearms. 

According to The Informer, a wide variety of guns, from a chrome plated TEC-9 to black powder rifles, were turned in at the event.

Last year saw the first gift card for guns exchange held in the county. The program saw approximately 450 firearms surrendered last year.
