Fire at Abandoned Ft. Washington Home Caused $60K in Damages

Prince George's County Fire Department are investigating the cause of a fire at an abandoned home Thursday night.

 

Updated, Sept. 27, 5:26 p.m. Prince George's County firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire that broke out at an abandoned home Thursday evening around 6:30 p.m. in Fort Washington.

The single-family home was in the 1200 block of Jefferson Road and when firefighters arrived on scene, the entire home was engulfed in flames, according to PGFD Spokesman Mark Brady.

The fire caused $60,000 in damages, but no one was injured.

Brady said the entire structure in the 1200 block of Jefferson Road is involved.
