Fatal Shooting in Oxon Hill is County's 18th Homicide This Year

Victim was found near a trash dumpster along Kennebec Street.

Prince George's County Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a young male in Oxon Hill this morning. The homicide is the county's second killing in three days, and the 18th overall since Jan. 1.

County police officers were called to the 900 block of Kennebec Street in Oxon Hill for a report of an unresponsive male. Upon their arrival, officers found the male lying near a trash dumpster with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

He was transported to the United Medical Center in Washington, D.C., where he was pronounced dead at 12:20 a.m., according to police information. The victim's identity is unknown.
