County Police Watch: Murder Arrests, Teen Stabbing, Drugs and Guns Bust

Arrests Made in Guns, Marijuana Bust

The Prince George’s County Police received a drug complaint for a residence in the 1700 block of Barrington Court, Bowie, MD, according to a police report. The District II Special Assignment Team and the Narcotic Enforcement Division conducted an investigation. A search and seizure warrant was obtained and executed on April 20. The following items were seized:

• 7 long guns

• 8 handguns

• Several hundred rounds of ammunition

• 2 ballistic vests

• 1 NASA badge

• Approximately 500 grams-marijuana

• Approximately $800 counterfeit money

• Approximately $400 U.S. currency seized

Police are conducting an investigation into the origin of the NASA badge, Capt. Steven Yuen told Patch on Wednesday.

Dmitri Vidal Walls-White, Bryan Anthony Walls and Sheila Shermick Coleman were arrested and the investigation will continue to find new developments.

PG County Police Announce Arrests in Murder Investigations

Tyrone Antwan Lewis was charged via warrants with the murders of Justin Antonio Isaacs and Edmund Akofio-Sowah, according to an April 23 police report. Kelvin Delonte Walker, Jr. was also charged via a warrant with the murder of Justin Antonio Isaacs, according to the report.

On October 10, 2011, officers responded to the 2100 block of Iverson Street, Hillcrest Heights for a report of a shooting, according to the report. Officers located the victim Isaacs, on the front steps of the location suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police. Lewis and Walker were developed as suspects and subsequently charged with the murder of Isaacs, the police report states.

Police say that Lewis was also charged with murder for an incident seven years ago. The report says that on January 26, 2005, officers responded to the 400 block of St. Margaret’s Drive, Capitol Heights, for a call of a motor vehicle accident with injuries. The officers discovered a white taxicab that had collided with an unoccupied vehicle parked in the driveway. It was learned that the driver, Edmund Akofio-Sowah, was inside the cab suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Lewis was charged with the murder of Akofio-Sowah this past week.

Wig Dispute May Have Sparked Knifing, Two Fairmont Heights High School Teens Charged with Assault

The Prince George’s County Police Department has charged two teen-age girls in connection with a fight that occurred April 20 at Fairmont Heights High School.  The altercation is believed to have stemmed from a previous dispute about a wig, according to police. One girl has been charged with first-degree assault after she stabbed the other girl who initiated the incident, police stated. The girl, who was charged with first-degree assault, has been committed to a juvenile detention center. The girl, who was stabbed, was transported to a local hospital where she remains in critical but stable condition and was charged with second-degree assault, according to police. A paring knife was recovered at the scene.
