County Police Investigating Homicide in Oxon Hill

Prince George's County police officers are investigating the homicide of 28 year-old James William Speaks Jr. last night in Oxon Hill.    

At about 7:04 p.m., county patrol officers responded to the 4400 block of Wheeler Road for a reported shooting. Once they arrived, officers found Speaks, of the 4500 block of Wheeler Road in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound, according to police information.

Speaks was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Detectives are working to identify the suspects and establish a motive in the case.
