Classmates, Community Remember Slain Teen

A memorial tribute was held Friday for Marckel Norman Ross, a Central High School junior, gunned down while walking to school on the morning of Sept. 11 in Capitol Heights.

 

On Friday afternoon, the Central High School community gathered on their football field to release light blue balloons in honor of a classmate that was gunned down last week.

Marckel Norman Ross, 18, a junior at Central, was fatally shot while he was walking to school Tuesday morning in Capitol Heights.

As news broke of Ross' murder, classmates and friends took to social media to grieve. Messages about Ross continue to be published on various social networks.

On Thursday, students remembered their classmate with a makeshift vigil. It was back to school night at Central High School and Prince George's County Police met with concerned parents to discuss the case and quell fears.
