According to the indictment, the two men knew each other through mutual association with the MS-13 gang. On Feb. 28, 2007, they armed themselves with knives and entered a brothel apartment on 14th Avenue, the indictment charges.
Prosecutors said the two demanded money from the people inside and searched the apartment, looking for anything of value. Cerros-Cruz and Lopez bound one of the brothel employees and raped another, according to the indictment.
