The Prince George’s County Police Department has arrested Jamik Mathew Sumby on charges stemming from the murder of Upper Marlboro resident Perry Earl Hunt last week.
On Jan. 13, county police officers were called to the 1400 block of Doewood Lane in Capitol Heights. When they arrived, they found Hunt, of the 5100 block of Sly Fox Court in Upper Marlboro, dead behind an apartment complex trash bin.
During the investigation, homicide detectives determined Sumby, of the 5100 block of North Englewood Drive in Fairmount Heights, was a suspect. He was arrested Tuesday and charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter. Sumby is being held without bond at the Department of Corrections facility in Upper Marlboro.
Police said Sumby and Hunt knew each other. According to a police press release, Hunt was stabbed during an altercation with Sumby at another location.
