After-Christmas Shopping: What's The Deal?

After Christmas deals are few and far between right now. At least Wal-Mart and Target are ahead of the curve.

It's the day after Christmas and you're up to your eyeballs in wrapping paper, new toys and leftover food. But now that the kids are satisfied, maybe it's time to treat yourself to that awesome TV you didn't receive. Or maybe you want some flashy new gear for the new year.

Admittedly, after-Christmas deals were tough to find so far. Either way, here's a small roundup of the best local deals that begin the day after Christmas.

Want to get a major head start on next year's holiday decorations? Wal-Mart will slash the price of its Christmas candy, toys and holiday décor by 50 percent.

-- Elsewhere, the store is promising great deals on its HDTVs, kids’ sleepwear, and kitchen utensils. On its website, Wal-Mart will hold a clearance event, in which free shipping will be available on all apparel $45 or more. On Dec. 30, holiday décor prices will be reduced by 75 percent.

-- Like most stores, Target will also cut prices after Christmas to get rid of its holiday inventory. It will keep its reduced prices on high-end TVs, scooters and beauty products.
