The Charity Carrousel is a
501c3 non-profit organization. Our mission is to provide resources and
funding to fight against homelessness and hunger amongst children and families
in our communities. Our goal is to get 100,000 people to give 1 can of food a week for 1 year, generating 4,800,000 cans of food. We are setting up a drop-off network in stores, churches, small businesses, restaurants, etc., to collect the can food donations. And we are working directly with the school counselors to identify the children and families in need. Of course, we want our families to eat more than can foods. We see this work as one way of supplementing the family, so with the money they have, they can buy fresh fruits and vegetables. Hopefully, by giving a food bundle on a regular basis, we are taking a level of stress off of our families and kids. If many people give a little bit all the time, there should be more than enough food to feed the hungry children in our communities. This tournament helps us do the work. It will be held at the number 2 golf course in the state of MD, the beautiful Lake Presidential Golf Course. Check-in is from 12:30 - 1:30. The contests are at 1:00. The "Shotgun Start" is at 2:00. We offer a Golf Clinic taught by Lake Presidential PGA Pros from 5:30 to 6:30, with check in at 5:00. The Awards dinner is at 7PM. Congresswoman Donna Edwards will give remarks. We are honoring Councilman Obie Patterson and the National Harbor/The Peterson Companies for their support.
