Free HIV/AIDS Testing Offered on World AIDS Day, 1

The public can be tested for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), receive sexually transmitted infections screenings and attend a dramatic presentation and panel discussion about the disease, December 1,11 a.m.-1 p.m. The event will be held at Signature Blue II, 337 Brightseat Road #20 in Landover, Md. and is free and open to the public in commemoration of World AIDS Day.

Washington Area International Teens will perform a 30 minute dramatic presentation on how to contract and prevent HIV and AIDS. In addition, there will be a panel discussion led by a group of HIV positive men and women followed by a question and answer session.

Recognized each year on December 1, World AIDS Day is an international day of action and is designed to raise awareness of the global HIV and AIDS epidemic and reduce the spread of the disease through education.  The event is sponsored by the College Health Club and Health Education Center at Prince George's Community College, Sisters4Sisters, Inc., Heart to Hand, LLC, Local Union 3389 and 1170, and the Prince George’s County Health Department.
