Winter Weather Advisory in Effect Until Tuesday Morning

The National Weather Service has put a winter weather advisory in effect from 10 p.m. Monday night until 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for much of the D.C. Metro area including Prince George's County starting at 10 p.m. tonight and into tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. 

A mix of snow and sleet is expected to fall between 10 p.m. and midnight tonight, and is then expected to change to freezing rain between midnight and 2 a.m. and will continue into the night.

Early Tuesday morning the freezing rain is expected to turn to rain, with temperatures ranging from the 30's to the 40's.

Drivers are being asked to exercise extra caution as this mix can create slippery roads and limited road visibility.
