Video: 'I Have a Dream Speech'

A Dr. King Memorial in DC is scheduled to be completed this August.

Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered the 'I Have a Dream' speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial before 250,000 people in 1963. In a country of famous speeches this is notably one of the most memorable.

The civil rights activist was born on January 15, 1929 and a United States federal holiday was established in 1986.

Twenty-five years later after establishing the national holiday, a memorial honoring Dr. King's life is scheduled to be completed in Washington on Aug. 28, the anniversary of the famous speech. It will be built on The Mall between the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials.
