Travon Bennett Indicted in Central High Student's Murder

The 20-year-old man was indicted after a gun used in a robbery was tied to Marckel Ross' death.

A 20-year-old man has been indicted on charges of murder in the death of a Prince George's County teenager.

Marckel Ross was gunned down as he walked to school the morning of Sept. 11, 2012.

According to the Prince George's County Police, Travon Bennett was arrested in a street robbery. The gun allegedly used during that crime was the gun used to kill Ross. Bennett was arrested in February.

Ross, 18, was a junior at Central High School. Police spent days knocking on doors trying to find out information about the teen's death. Since Ross' murder a number of other Prince George's County teens have died due to gun and gang violence.

An arraignment date has not been scheduled.
