Tornado Warning Issued for Parts of Prince George's

July 1, 7:33 p.m. - The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for parts of Prince George's County including Marlton, Clinton and the Andrews Joint Service Base areas. The warning is in effect until 8 p.m.

The warning reads in part:

"AT 730 PM EDT...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO WAS 5 MILES SOUTH OF CLINTON...OR NEAR WALDORF...AND WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 15 MPH...TAKE COVER NOW. MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF ASTURDY BUILDING AND AVOID WINDOWS. IF OUTDOORS OR IN A MOBILE HOME OR VEHICLE...MOVE TO THE CLOSEST SUBSTANTIAL SHELTER AND PROTECT YOURSELF FROM FLYING DEBRIS."
