Riverdale Ministries presents The Living Christmas Tree 2011, which is celebrating 25 years. Performances feature music and drama complemented by a pre-show outdoor live nativity.
The tree is a 30-foot-tall steel structure that holds an 80-person choir standing on wooden platforms. It weighs more than 2 tons, is held together by more than 800 steel bolts and is decorated for Christmas with greenery and thousands of lights. The star at the top of the tree is 4 feet tall and reaches to the ceiling of the auditorium.
The event will take place on Friday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 10 at 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 11 at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
