White Christmas Not Likely for Prince George's County

There may be precipitation on Sunday, but probably not the stuff of holiday cards.

If you've been dreaming of a white Christmas this year, it's our sad duty to report that the odds don't look good for Prince George's County.

As of Friday morning, the National Weather Service was predicting a 10 percent chance of Christmas Day precipitation in Upper Marlboro — but in the form of raindrops rather than snowflakes.

Sunday's forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a daytime high near 51° F. Temperatures are expected to hover just above freezing both Saturday and Sunday nights.

The silver lining? Daytime temps are expected to remain mild next week, with a high of 50° F possible on Thursday.
