Upper Marlboro Woman to Receive Christmas in April Improvements

More than 80 Prince George's County homes will be improved this Saturday.

An Upper Marlboro woman will receive a modified bathroom as a part of Prince George's County's Christmas in April event, according to a county spokesman.

Laurel Jenkins, of Columbine Lane, is wheelchair bound and suffers from cerebral palsy and other ailments. Although her son resides with her and cares for her, they were in need of a modified bathroom so she wouldn't scratch the walls with her wheelchair.

As a part of modification, she'll get a usuable shower as well. Donations from others, including a plumbing supply company, a shower base has been donated and will be installed.
