Silent Painting to Protest Trayvon Martin Verdict

Mount Rainier event to provide artistic outlet for those moved by jury's decision.

In response to the verdict in the Trayvon Martin case, Art Works studio in Mount Rainier will be holding a silent studio painting session.

A paint-in protest, if you will. 

The event will be held on Monday, July 15 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., according to a notice sent to local community email lists on Sunday evening.

The brief notice states that the silent painting event is designed "for our community to process this injustice through creating art."

The event is free and open to all ages.

Art Works studio is located at 3711 Rhode Island Avenue in Mount Rainier.
