Here are some fun things to do around town with the family this weekend in Prince George's County.

Why to go:  Busboys and Poets is proud to announce the "First Fridays" series, which will take place on the first Friday of every month from 6-8 PM and features monthly artist talks, local studio visits and more! Light hors d'oeuvres and wine will be served.

Why to go:  Come visit The Truffle Factory and take a FREE factory tour and learn about the origin of cacao trees, how they are harvested, fermented, dried and then subsequently turned into premium single-estate chocolate.

Where/When:  12500 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD, Saturday, June 30, 2012, 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Why to go:  Come one, come all to the 134th annual Clarksville Picnic - a day filled with kid's games, pony and hay rides, face painting, cotton candy, ice cream, funnel cake, hot dogs, hamburgers and pizza.  There's also a magic show and lots of music and dancing.  Don't worry, there's plenty for the grown-ups to do - a silent auction, handmade crafts, a White Elephant garage sale, BINGO, and our $20,000 raffle to name a few.  Don't forget to enjoy our popular family-style chicken and ham dinner under the big tent.  Hope to see you there!!!

Montpelier Summer Concert Series, 34th Annual

Where/When:  Laurel-Beltsville Senior Activity Center, 7120 Contee Road, Laurel, MD 20707

Aug 10, 2012: I & I Riddim: 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Why to go:  Dance or listen to the music of Chuck Berry, Etta James, Roy Orbison, Elvis, the Drifters, Jimmy Buffet, and many other musicians as the Retro-Rockets plays its unique blend of driving rock and roll songs, smooth ballads, R&B music, classic instrumentals, and even country, big band, standards, disco, and blues numbers.

Bring the family and friends out with blankets, lawn chairs, and a picnic dinner and relax to the sounds of this oldies/variety/dance band.  In case of heavy rain, the performance would be cancelled, so call 301-953-7882 after 5:00 pm for updates.

The Great American Festival

Where/When: 137 National Plaza, National Harbor, Maryland 20745, Saturday, June 30, 2012.

Why to go:  American is taking over the National Harbor Waterfront, including the entire pavilion and beach areas, as well as both piers as we set up three outdoor stages to bring you the best entertainment in the DC area. Enjoy live music featuring Eve 6, Ozomatli, The Dance Party, Lost in Paris and See-i! Dance the night away to multiple DJs including Skratch & Sniff, DJ Chris Styles, and DJ Pat Premier! There will be delicious food from the DC area's most popular food vendors including Famous Dave’s BBQ and the Hard Times Café.  Fireworks display over the Potomac.

We rock the house at this upscale bar with that southern rock and country then we get into that Top 40 and then into that dance music as your karaoke singers enjoy the night. Find Twist and Turn Tavern on Facebook and come and see the show as I am your Weekend at Bernie's KJ. Which means I dance to everything!
