Croom Station Road to be Closed Monday for Repairs

Workers will replace an emergency storm drain pipe.

The 7700 - 8100 blocks of Croom Station Road in Upper Marlboro will be closed on Monday as the county's Public Works and Transportation departments replace an emergency storm drain pipe. 

The temporary closure will last from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to county transportation officials. The road is being closed to prevent further deterioration while the pipe is being replaced. The blocks in question are located in a swampy area with no shoulder. 

Detour signs will be installed to advise motorists of the temporary closure. Residents living in the 7700 block of Croom Station Road will be able to access their homes from US 301, while those living in the 8000 block will have access from Croom Road. Motorists who normally travel Croom Station Road during the scheduled work hours are advised to remain on US 301.

The pipe will be replaced by July 25, according to county information. If work is completed earlier than anticipated, the roadway will be opened. Questions about the temporary closure should be directed to 301.499.8520.
