Sunday Sunset Concerts at Allen Pond: The Back Pages Band

Why to go: UP ON THE ROOF is a story about adultery, unexpected pregnancy, a failed royal cover up attempt, and cold blooded murder. All by the most unlikely suspect, who almost got away with it!

Where/When: National Wildlife Visitor Center/Patuxent Research Refuge, 10901 Scarlet Tanager Loop, Laurel, MD 20708, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Why to go: Attend this special event to learn about the magnificent Whooping Crane and the Adopt A Whooper Program. Follow the life cycle of these birds from an egg to an adult with amazing pictures of Patuxent Whooping Cranes. Talk with a member of the Crane Crew and try on a special suit used to prevent Whooping Crane chicks from imprinting on humans. Children can compare their height to that of a life-size picture of a Whooping Crane and have their picture taken. They can also exercise their artistic talents at a coloring table. Door prizes will be awarded hourly.
Saturday Concerts in Old Towne Bowie: DELTA LOCO
Where/When: Town Green Park, 13090 9th St., Bowie, MD 20720, Saturday, July 28, 2012, 2:00 p.m.
Why to go: Enjoy a variety of concerts the Town Green in Old Town Bowie. Concert goers should bring a blanket or chair. Concerts are cancelled in case of inclement weather. These concerts are on selected Saturdays throughout the summer.

That’s Entertainment! The Politics of Mirth
Where/When: National Colonial Farm, 3400 Bryan Point Rd., Accokeek, MD 20607, Saturday, July 28, 2012 – Sunday, July 29, 2012, 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Why to go: Be entertained the colonial way with food, sport, and merriment! Museum professionals, through an interactive performance and presentation of 18th century entertainments, enlighten guests about the social aspects of a colonial-era barbeque.

Whether it’s Date Night Friday or Family Sunday, pack your picnic and chairs, and meet us at the Plaza’s big screen for a FREE evening of ocean breezes and all-ages fun!
Bring your lawn chairs, but coolers filled with alcohol or food will not be allowed.
