Prince George's County Executive Baker Visits Upper Marlboro Branch Library

Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker III visited the Upper Marlboro Branch Library with Sneaks the Cat. Baker is the honorary chair of the Library’s science-themed summer reading program “Fizz Boom Read!” The program, which runs through August, offers activities throughout the summer for preschool, elementary, middle and high school students and adults of all ages. Library Director Kathleen Teaze joined Baker in front of the Library’s Curiosity Cube, which transports Library representatives and materials to Prince George’s County schools, community centers and events. The Curiosity Cube inspires children to ask questions and investigate what the Prince George’s County Library has to offer, Teaze said.

Teaze stands behind summer reading program participants (back left to right) Melina Esparza of Lanham and Diana Salas of Lanham with (front left to right) Kali Olivarria of Upper Marlboro and Ximena Esparza of Lanham. Melina and Diana will enter fourth grade this fall. Kali will enter kindergarten, and Ximena will enter preschool.
