Octopus Loose In Prince George's County??
Some county citizens are of the opinion that some of the problems we have in areas of Prince George's County are caused by a creature I have labeled "The Octopus" because it seems to have tentacles in multiple offices of the government. I was skeptic about the creatures existence until I happened to be present one day when it made an appearance as I was assisting a senior pursue recompense for having her vehicle illegally towed from a handicapped parking space in spite of having the handicapped placard displayed in plain view. The county employees conducting the hearing knew "The Octopus" by name, declared that "this was a Suitland matter" and subsequently ruled against the senior without requiring the towing company accompanied by "The Octopus" to produce written documentation that their contract contained provisions mandating the removal of legally parked vehicles from handicapped parking spaces at a seniors building. When questioned about their actions the hearing board in effect replied that they would take a declaration from "The Octopus" that the paperwork existed and ignore the fact that such a provision had to violate state and/or federal code concerning handicapped parking regulations. My subsequent inquiries have made me curious about just how far the creatures tentacles reach into the different levels of the county government. Was the recent bump in pay proposed for the county state attorney a payoff to delay any investigations into past or present activities of this creature or those caught in its tentacles?
