Hospital Welcomes New Diabetes Specialist

Having graduated from the residency program at Howard University Hospital, Dr. Zenebe later completed a fellowship in its Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Department.  He has a keen understanding of the complexities of diabetes and its significant impact on overall health and wellbeing.

Dr. Zenebe specializes in caring for people who recently received diabetes diagnoses or those who have been managing the disease for years.  He cares for patients at Doctors Community Hospital’s Joslin Diabetes Center located in Lanham, Maryland.

With about 11 percent of Prince George’s County residents having diabetes, our program is designed to help people manage this chronic illness. The only multidisciplinary program in Prince George’s County accredited by the American Diabetes Association, our diabetes program specializes in education, treatment and management—optimizing the health and wellbeing of adults.

 

Services Provided

·         “Ask the Doc” program

·         Diabetes self-management training

·         Glucose monitoring

·         Individual consultation

·         Insulin pump training

·         Medical nutrition therapy

·         Meter training

 

 

Also, we provide a Joslin Circle Support Group that empowers patients and their families to take charge of their health. This support group meets the third Monday of every month.
