The "Prince George's Cares Walk for the Homeless" will take place at Allen Pond Park on Saturday, September 22nd, 2012. County Executive Rushern Baker will deliver the Keynote Address for the event.
This effort to raise awareness, and raise funds to help serve thousands in need, is an event for the whole family to enjoy! There will be music, the Washington Wizards Cheerleaders will give away basketballs, and refreshments will be provided by Wegmans.
Please join the event's sponsors, The City of Bowie, Community Crisis Services Services, Inc. (CCSI), United Communities Against Poverty (UCAP), and Clatholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington, next Saturday morniing, for a walk to end homelessness!
The cost is $30 for Adults (26 and up), and $20 for youth and young adults (25 and under).
Businesses are also encouraged to contribute any amount, which will go toward scholarships for school aged youth who desire to participate in the walk.

More About Allen Pond Park
Allen Pond Park is in the heart of Bowie, not far from the Bowie Town Center. The 85-acre park is one of the most diverse in the area, with everything from horeshoes to ice skating available. There is an amphitheater, trails, playgrounds, a skate park and athletic fields (use by permit only). There is also a stocked, 10-acre fishing pond, which requires a permit for any person over 16.
