We all love taking our kids places.  It seems that no matter how awesome our homes may be, there are days where we just want to get out of the house!  The downside is a lot of the cheap options just get old after awhile.  I love scouting out deals for fun, local, education day trip options.  Livingsocial, Plum District, and Groupon are a few of the amazing sites that I use frequently.  I will say that they have gone downhill in the past year or so.  It used to be that there was one, maybe two deals per day whereas now there are a good 20-30 deals per day and some last as long as a week.  It just makes it harder to sort through them all and a lot are things that are not applicable to "families"... don't get me wrong, I do love eyeing those trips to the Bahamas.  :)  

Anyways, a few days ago one was listed for the Maryland Science Center in Baltimore, located across the way from the Aquarium.  This is a fabulous place to take your kids, or your entire family.  It is local, you can either drive (they validate for 2 local parking garages, see their website for info) or take the Light Rail, out of Glen Burnie (closest to us in Bowie).  The Science Center has activities for all ages, and even has an IMAX theatre which kids of all ages love.  The KIDS ROOM is amazing there and has activities scheduled for kids of all ages, there is even an infant group activity which is designed for 0-12 months.  Learning is essential for our kids especially in the early years and places like the Maryland Science Center are amazing because they offer hands on learning.  Kids don't want to just look, they NEED to touch and explore on their own!
