Upper Marlboro Teen Charged in DC Restaurant Armed Robbery
A 19-year-old from Upper Marlboro is charged in an armed robbery of Pret a Manger, according to reports.
DC Police charged an Upper Marlboro teen Thursday in an armed robbery of a DC eatery.
Police said Elijah Warren, who was an employee of the Pret a Manger in the 1800 block of L Street NW, allegedly tried to rob the cafe along with two others before it closed Wednesday, according to The Washington Post.
The armed robbery occurred around 8 p.m., police told the media. Warren was charged with assault with intent to rob, the Post reported, but police are still looking for the other suspects.
Three masked men entered the cafe dressed in Pret a Manger uniforms and showed a gun, WJLA reported. However, an employee recognized a suspect's voice as a co-worker and tried to wrestle the gun away from the assailants, WJLA reported.
One employee suffered minor injuries, police said, but was released from the hospital, according to the Post.
