Upper Marlboro, Prince George's Government Closed for Thanksgiving

County announces Thanksgiving 2012 schedule for government, landfills, transit.

 

Prince George's County government officials have released its Thanksgiving holiday schedule.

Most county offices will be closed on both Thanksgiving day, Thursday, Nov. 22, and Black Friday, Nov. 23.

The Prince George's County Department of Environmental Resources, however, will only be closing its landfills, hazardous waste and recycling centers on Thanksgiving day before re-opening for normal service on Black Friday.

Also, TheBus, the countywide bus-transit system, will be closed on Thanksgiving before re-opening most of its routes on Black Friday. The only routes that won't be running on Friday, Nov. 23 are routes 51, 51-extended, 52 and 53, all of which service county government buildings. Service returns to normal on Monday, Nov. 26.

In Upper Marlboro, town hall will be closed Thursday and recycling will not be collected.
