Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Felony Assault Suspect

Cordell Blackwell was taken into custody last week.

Deputies from the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office arrested a suspect last week on a warrant for first degree assault issued earlier this month.

According to police, Cordell Blackwell was in the 8600 block of Cryden Way in Capitol Heights on Nov. 16 when he got into a verbal dispute with another person.

Blackwell is accused of pulling out a handgun and threatening the life of the other man. Though he reportedly fled the scene of the incident, he was later identified by the victim.

The sheriff's office said Cordell was apprehended without incident on Nov. 18 in the 3800 block of Blackwater Rd. in Clinton.
