Recent PGPD Hero Indicted on Unrelated Assault Charges

Cpl. Rickie Adey, who recently rescued several people and pets from a burning building, has been indicted on assault charges from an incident last year.

After helping to rescue seven people from a burning building in District Heights on Wednesday, ABC7 is reporting that Cpl. Rickie Adey, with the Prince George’s County Police Department, has been indicted on assault charges from an event last year.

Adey is accused of assaulting Kyre Jenkins on Aug. 4, 2011. He has been indicated on one count of first degree assault, one count of second degree assault and one count of misconduct, ABC7 reports.

According to the county, Lt. Scott Finn spotted the fire Wednesday night and called it in. Adey arrived to assist, and the two have been hailed as heroes for their rescue efforts.

When asked of his initial response to the fire, Adey told the Gazette“I had no hesitation. My main concern was getting them out."

A court date for Adey is not yet known, according to ABC7.

Look TLC if you believe that assault, whomever it comes from is okay then you are one sick puppy. Police,"peace officers" must up-hold the law, not be above the law. Assault on any individual is reprehensible. Money hungry, how dare you victimize this person all over again, here you verbally assaulted this person with your unkind words, beating down this persons moral character when you don't even know them.

This doesn't take away from what the officer did for those that needed him when he helped in the rescue, that was a part of his job description and he did well.

Are you a police officer yourself? Your comment would make sense. You sound morally bankrupt. Keep your ignorant comment in the privacy if your home and mind.

Angel...Did you even read the article before you made your comment? Read the article again, then read it again, then you can comment. Don't comment until you read the article. Have you ever had a guy hold a gun to your head? If you did then you would think again.

Ricahrd Delabrer, former Pee Gee cop sentenced to almost 4 years for corruption had children in the French Immersion program yet to this day a lot of Blacks and Whites luv this convicted felon. He will probably run for office when released and set a good example for other convicted cops. Hope justice (LOL)is served in the above case for the indicted officer and whomever the dice rolls for will have to live with it...not convicting the office because yes folk do lie in court and some judges are pure demons.
