Prince George's Schools Dismiss Early

Advancing snowstorm forces early dismissal in Prince George's County.

Prince George's County Public Schools will be dismissing two hours early on account of an approaching snowstorm. All afternoon and evening classes are also cancelled.

There is one exception: the Prince George's County Public Schools Before and After School Extended Learning Program will be closing at 4 p.m.

The National Weather Service is forecasting an 80 percent chance of snowfall later this afternoon, with wintry precipitation beginning after 3 p.m. and continuing into the evening.

The weather service is calling for maybe an inch of snow; sorry, that does not qualify as a "storm". Not even flurries as I write this and the kids are being let out early? Pathetic. (yes, I know, can't have the little darlings out in the drifts.....)

It is not about the little darlings being out in a drift. It is about the crazy driver that loses control and rams into a school bus and severly injures one of the little darlings. I for one am glad the county takes a proactive approach to the problem and legal issues that may arise. And guess who would have to pay a monotary legal judgement? Yes the taxpayers. Just my .02 cents.
