City, county and state officials were on hand for the grand opening of the South Bowie Library.

Nearly 15 years in the making, the South Bowie Library opened its doors to patrons on Thursday afternoon. Numerous city, county and state officials were on hand to celebrate the ribbon cutting of this state of the art library facility. The original Bowie Library, still in service in the northern part of the city, was built in 1969.
