Don't know why it bothers me... but it does.... Charm City Cakes makes amazing cakes but have you ever inquired to the price tag on them? The cost is INSANE! For that $$ the city could have put some $$ BACK INTO the city and ordered a cake from a BOWIE cake place, such as The Cakery (been a Bowie business for forever).

Hi Katie
Thank you for asking. The cake was donated.

I totally agree, they should have gone local but instead they chose to go with a big name...very disappointing.

The architect of the library is friends with the person who designed and donated the cake. To my understanding the cake designer was honored to donate a replica of the new South Bowie Library. I hope that helps to clarify how the Library System received the cake for the celebration.
