PGPD Officer to be Sentenced in UMD Student Beating
Former Prince George's County officer James Harrison will be sentenced Friday morning.
The former Prince George's County Police officer convicted of beating a University of Maryland student will be sentenced Friday morning in a county courthouse.
James Harrison was convicted in October 2012 of second-degree assault stemming from an incident in March 2010, when two police officers were filmed on tape assaulting a student after the University of Maryland men’s basketball team’s victory over the Duke Blue Devils.
Harrison was convicted, but the other police officer was found not guilty.
The sentencing will begin around 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Prince George's County Courthouse in 14735 Main Street Upper Marlboro, MD.
