Fake Cop Pulls Over Real Cop, Gets Caught
Prince George's County Police arrested a police impersonator Wednesday after he pulled over an off-duty police officer in Upper Marlboro.
A Crofton man was charged Wednesday in the impersonation of a police officer in Upper Marlboro.
Prince George's County Police said a man was driving a white truck southbound on Route 301, when he tried to pull over a Capitol Heights Police officer, who was driving his personal vehicle near Trade Zone Avenue.
When the real police officer identified himself, the suspect told him he was a military officer from Louisiana, according to PGPD.
The suspect tried to cite the off-duty officer for speeding, according to reports, but the officer told the suspect he did not have jurisidiction in Upper Marlboro and that the blue and red emergency equipment in his truck was illegal in Maryland.
The suspect fled the scene, but was closely followed by the Capitol Heights Police officer until Prince George's County Police arrived.
Police charged Anthony Kenneth Mastrogiovanni, 29, of the 900 block of Eastham Court, for impersonating a police officer. Mastrogiovanni has been released from police custody.
Police are asking anyone who may have fallen victim to Mastrogiovanni to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s District V Investigative Section at 301-856-3130.

I've been waiting years for something like this to happen. These joyseekers are a menace to officers doing their jobs.

Individuals convicted of this aren't joy-seekers. They are potential: murderers, carjackers, kidnappers etc. This should be a categorized as a high level felony with punishment appropriate to the crime.

Fun? When you play with the law, you put yourself in a vulnerable position and endanger others.
Whether you don't get caught or no one gets hurt it's not the point. The point is that you increased the chances for some bad shit to go down putting yourself and others at risk.
It only takes one mistake to fuck up your whole life or someone else's.
