Bowie State Murder Trial Begins Tuesday

Alexis Simpson, 20, will face murder charges for allegedly stabbing roommate Dominique Frazier, 18, to death.

Jury selection in the Alexis Simpson Bowie State murder case concluded Thursday and opening arguments are scheduled to begin Tuesday, according to Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s office.

Simpson, now 20, is charged with stabbing her roommate, Dominique Frazier, 18, to death on Sept. 15, 2011. Both women were students at Bowie State University.

According to police, the two women had an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation. Police responded to a call of a cutting in the Christa McAuliffe Residential Community where they found Frazier bleeding and unconscious in the hallway of the building, police said. She was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

Simpson was released on bond in April after spending several months in jail, and has since been confined to her mother’s home in District Heights awaiting trial.
