Free HIV Testing Offered in Prince George's for World AIDS Day
An event in Landover is promoting HIV prevention with testing.
It's World AIDS Day and in order to bring awareness to the disease and its prevention a number of places are offering free HIV testing.
Prince George's Community College is sponsoring an event in Landover today so that residents can get a free HIV test, receive sexually transmitted infections screenings, attend a dramatic presentation and panel discussion about the disease.
The event will be held at Signature Blue II, 337 Brightseat Road #20 in Landover, Md. from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
According to PGCC Spokesman Joe Clark:
Washington Area International Teens will perform a 30-minute dramatic presentation on how to contract and prevent HIV and AIDS. In addition, there will be a panel discussion led by a group of HIV positive men and women followed by a question and answer session.
Recognized each year on December 1, World AIDS Day is an international day of action and is designed to raise awareness of the global HIV and AIDS epidemic and reduce the spread of the disease through education. The event is sponsored by the College Health Club and Health Education Center at Prince George's Community College, Sisters4Sisters, Inc., Heart to Hand, LLC, Local Union 3389 and 1170, and the Prince George’s County Health Department.

This event happened on Saturday, December 1. It was reported in The Patch on Sunday, December 2. Now it's too late to attend. I wish events like this would be reported the day BEFORE the event. This is not the first time this has happened.

Thanks for your feedback. Actually, this was reported on Saturday morning (see publish date). I think it may have been pulled into your Sunday newsletter which is my fault, but as it's dated above this was reported Saturday. It was also in our events calendar for month.
